The Philosophy of Saiva Siddhanta.

The Shenbaga vinayagar temple at ceylon road , Singapore is a very interesting place. Never have I visited a temple anywhere so far which explains the philosophy of saiva siddhanta so clearly.

I have written, in the following lines whatever I saw and whatever I could remember from the inscriptions on the walls.

Philosophy of Saiva Siddhantham

Saivite Hinduism believes in Lord siva as the supreme God and is worshipped both in the formless state or in his various forms such as Natarajar with Sivakami, Somaskandhar etc. Lord Vinayagar is the Lord of first worship.

"The Saiva Siddhanta system is the most elaborate , influential and undoubtedly the most intrinsically valuable philosphy." ----Reverend G.U.Pope.

Lets start with Thirukkural

Folks,

This blog is about random musings in Vedanta. Sometimes when the going gets serious, I can digress and write some frivolous stuff.

First lets start with Thirukural:

Agara Muthala Yezhuthellam AAthi
Bhagavan Mutharre Ulagu

Meaning:
Just like the letter 'A' is the first of all letters, the eternal God or Bhagavan is the first in this world.
